Students of the Month
Each month teachers select a student that
has been a wonderful role model and shown exceptional
achievement. Mr. Skowronski calls their names over the
intercom and they go to the cafeteria for a certificate,
picture, and donut treat

100 Cans for Caring
Eisenhower Kids Care! This year for the 100th
day of school Ms. Goldkopf's class sent a letter home
encouraging Eisenhower students to bring in a canned good
for the Food Bank.
The class is pictured below showing that they collected
163 cans on the 100th day of school. (The number is
actually higher now because more cans were sent in during
the rest of the week.) Congratulations to Ms. Goldkopf's
class for showing that Eisenhower Kids Care!

Congratulations Stephanie Morris,
Eisenhower's winner of the SEA's "Great Public Schools"
Contest. Students throughout the district had the option
to design a leaf showing how they have "grown" in school.

The Spirit of
Giving
At Eisenhower School, the spirit of giving was certainly
obvious in Mrs. Schwartz’s second grade class this holiday
season. Her class, with the help of the Eisenhower School
PTO and other teachers in the building, collected over 250
stuffed animals for an organization called SAFE; Stuffed
Animals For Emergencies. This organization redistributes
the animals to Police, Fire & Rescue, Ambulance Services,
Children’s Homes, Hospitals, Life Flight, and others to
help children who are suffering from traumatic and
emotional situations. Special thanks to one of our PTO
parents, Theresa McDonnell, who graciously offered to
deliver our stuffed animals to the SAFE organization in
the Bronx, New York.

Do you have your own doll? Well, Ms. Herschkowitz, a
second grade teacher, was asked this holiday season if she
minded having a doll made to look like her. One of
her students wanted a "Ms. Herschkowitz" doll. Can you ask
for a better compliment as a teacher? The doll even came
with a dog to match Ms. Herschkowitz's pet dog, Jasper.
