Team 5-3 is currently working with the Philadelphia Zoo to Save the Orangutans!  Students have been spreading awareness about orangutans being endangered and have a number of projects in our positive advocacy campaign.  Students are conducting a “Change for Change” drive so the Samsel Upper Elementary School can adopt and orangutan!  Students are also collecting labels from products made by companies that are members of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO).  These companies are working to use palm oil in their products that does not come from a place that destroys an orangutans’ habitat.  The labels from the products will be used to make a collage cutout of an orangutan to be displayed in our school.  Team 5-3 will be traveling to the Philadelphia Zoo to give an update on our project and learn more about the palm oil crisis.  Check back for pictures and more information upon our return!
