SUES CHARACTER EDUCATION PROGRAM

The Samsel Upper Elementary School is committed to encouraging good character among its students. To achieve this goal, a character education program has been implemented. Part of this program is our “6 Pillars Pizzeria.”

Each month a student from every homeroom is chosen to attend a pizza luncheon hosted by the principal.  Homeroom teachers select students who have shown throughout the month, they have good character by exhibiting trustworthiness, fairness, responsibility, citizenship, caring, and respectfulness.  Guest speakers are often invited to attend.  Each student is presented with an award certificate.

Selected students appreciate being chosen to attend the “6 Pillars Pizzeria” and most of the other students seem to be working toward the goal of being selected themselves.
