Fund Raisers:
The PTO is excited
to be sponsoring new as well as tried and true fundraisers this year!!! We offer many
different types of fundraisers as a means to raise money for
the PTO so we may continue to provide a variety of programs
and activities for the children. Although you are not
required to participate in any fundraisers, we do appreciate
your support. Thank you for your past and continued
support!
Boston Coffee Cake
- orders will begin Nov. 17 with the deadline extended through
Thanksgiving week.
Boxtops/Labels for Education - The first round box top
collection resulted in $700.00, which the PTO used to order
some new playground equipment. We collect the
rectangular Box Tops for Education from General Mills
products, Labels for Education UPC’s from Campbells and
Pepperidge Farm products, and Tyson A+ labels. A copy of the
Nov. collection flyer can be found on the Correspondence page

Cookie Dough Fundraiser - will
begin at the end of January.
Entertainment Books - This annual
fundraiser begins on Sept. 12 and ends Sept. 26. Entertainment
Books are a great way to support local merchants and enjoy
family fun with great savings! This year's efforts resulted in
a $2,200 profit! Additional books are still available.
Gift Card Fundraiser - This
fundraiser began on Nov. 17. The Forms can be found on the
Correspondence page of this website. Click this link for

Restaurant Proceeds
Nights - This successful fundraiser offers hard working
parents a night off from kitchen duty and a fun evening with
family and friends while helping Arleth School at the same
time. Contact Monica Holon

Soda
Can Tab Collection - Arleth is collecting soda can
tabs again to benefit the Ronald McDonald House in New
Brunswick. Last year we collected approx. 150,000 tabs!
Please send in our tabs with your child in an envelope or
baggie. The Ronald McDonald House is able to use the proceeds
from the tab recycling to help support their efforts to
provide housing for families of hospitalized children.
Yankee Candle Fundraiser -
yielded approximately $1,900 in profits.
NEW! Kids Art fundraiser -
Our first Kids Art fundraiser raised about $300.00. We may
do another one later in the year.

News:
Afterschool Programs
- Afterschool
programs will began the week of Oct. 31. Please be aware of
your child's afterschool class dates. Check the Calendar page
of this website to be sure. There will be a winter and spring
session as well. Check the PTO and Correspondence pages of our
website for upcoming information and forms.
American Education
Week visitation - 235 people visited Arleth on Wednesday,
Nov. 16!
Apparel Sale -
Orders will be delivered shortly.
Beautification Day -
will be held Friday, Oct. 21 from 4-6 PM. Thank you to all who came out and joined in the efforts to beautify the grounds of Arleth
School!
Become a Library
Champion - the NJ State Library's advocacy program. Sign up at:

support your school and public libraries while taking part in
fun activities and contests.
Birthdays -
Celebrate your child's birthday by posting their name on the
Arleth School sign in front of the building along Washington
Road during their birthday week for just $10.00! Please contact Monica Holon at
monicah3@optonline.net at least two
weeks in advance.
BJ's Membership
Drive - will take place in January.
Book Fair -
The last of the book fair orders have been distributed.
Canned Food
Collection - begins Monday, Oct. 24 and will continue
until Nov. 8. Arleth has been honored for its notable contributions
each year to the Foodbank.
Class Parties
- will be held on December 23, an early dismissal day, the
last day before winter break.
Emma Arleth's
Birthday Celebration - will be held on January 9. Her
actual birthday is January 12. Class parents are being asked
to help distribute cupcakes during lunch periods on January 9.
Fire Safety Day
- was a great success! Thank you to the PTO for organizing the
event and all the firefighters who participated. If anyone
took photos, please email them to Mrs. Gunter for the website.
Food Drive -
Mrs. Comerford thanks everyone for their generous donations.
To date, we have collected 748 items. The collection has been
extended until November 23.
Make a
Difference Day - The clothing drive was very successful!
We received over 1,000 pounds of clothing and collected
$150.00 to which the PTO added another $50, all of which
was donated to the Sayreville Food Bank. Thank you.
Piano Keys - Thank you to all who
contributed to the purchase of Mr. Zorner's new piano. All the
piano keys have been sold!
Photography Days
- make-ups will be taken on Thursday, Dec. 8.
Pizza Hut Book
It/Read and Roll/Chick-Fil-A and Texas Roadhouse reading
incentive programs began in October. In addition to
monthly incentives for meeting monthly reading goals set by
your child's teacher, all students who participate every month
will be invited to an end of year Book It! party in May to celebrate
their accomplishment. The Six Flags reading program
will be held January and February only.
At this time, the Chick-Fil-A coupons have not yet been
received. They will be distributed for Oct. and Nov. as soon
as they arrive.
Programs -
The PTO is sponsoring two upcoming programs: Recycling will be
presented on Thursday, December 15 and Dinosaurs Rock will be
performed on Friday, December 23, the last day before our
winter break.
Recycling
- Arleth continues to recycle empty printer
cartridges and cell phones year round. They are collected in
the library by Mrs. Gunter.
Skate Night - was held November
10 at 6:30 PM. A small amount of money was generated but not
as much as anticipated.
Used Books
- Mrs. Gunter collects gently used books throughout the year
that are suitable for students in Kindergarten through grade
4. Books should be clean without any writing inside or torn
pages and will be considered first for addition to the media
center collection. Books that are not needed for the library
will be held for a used book sale in June to kick off our
district's summer reading program. Thank you.

Class
Parents - have been chosen for each class. Letters
have been sent home and roles for class parties have been
discussed. Please note you must be an active
member of the PTO Executive Board in order to be a class
parent. If you are not already a member of the
Executive Board and are interested in joining, please contact
Monica Holon 732-257-6426.
Election Committee - Voting plays a very important
part in your child’s education. Being a registered voter can
determine the quality of education your child receives. If
you are not a registered voter, please do so. Voter
registration forms are available at the PTO meetings.
PTO
Forms/Information – Please check the Arleth website often
for information about our current events and activities. Our
newsletter is distributed four times a year with a copy
available by clicking the link at the top of this page.
